Hail Hydras

Runadi, Behemoth Caller Commander Deck

by Mrdegoblin100 cards

This mono-green +1/+1 counters deck ramps into large creatures and turns every counter it places into more counters. Runadi gives each creature spell of mana value 5 or more extra counters as it is cast, and gives haste to any creature with three or more counters. Counter adders and doublers, X-cost Hydras and recurring counter engines push creatures past that threshold so they attack the turn they land. Mana creatures that scale with power or counters pay for ever bigger plays, and draw engines keyed to big bodies keep cards flowing. How it wins: It overwhelms opponents with oversized, hasty, trampling attackers grown by repeated counter doubling and team-wide pumps, and can also win outright with the Vigor and Walking Ballista infinite-damage loop. Key roles: - Counter multipliers: Replacement effects that add one counter or double the counters placed. They inflate Runadi's cast bonus, the X-cost Hydras and every small counter source, so creatures easily reach the haste threshold. (Hardened Scales, Doubling Season, Branching Evolution) - Hydras and big threats: X-cost Hydras and high mana value creatures soak up Runadi's bonus and the multipliers. They become the main attackers, often hasty and trampling on arrival. (Kalonian Hydra, Lifeblood Hydra, Worldspine Wurm) - Recurring counter engines: Permanents that place counters every upkeep, combat or creature entry, often across the whole team, so the board snowballs each turn. (Ouroboroid, Court of Garenbrig, Warden of the Grove) - Power-scaling ramp: Mana creatures and lands whose output grows with power or counters, backed by land ramp. They reach the 5+ mana value payoffs early and fund huge X spells. (Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Gyre Sage) - Big-creature card flow: Draw triggers off power 4+ entries, counters being placed, or combat damage refill the hand from the deck's large creatures. (Garruk's Uprising, Terrasymbiosis, Garruk's Packleader) - Fight removal and infinite finish: Fight spells turn the oversized creatures into removal. Vigor converts damage into counters, so Walking Ballista plus a counter adder or doubler loops into infinite damage. (Vigor, Walking Ballista, Khalni Ambush)
