Aerid Konstrari — Heartwood Colossus

Aerid Konstrari Commander Deck

by savagethoughts100 cards

Aerid Konstrari leads a Gruul artifact-count aggro deck. It piles up artifacts (Heartwood tokens, Treasures, Meteorites, Food, Stone Boulders and mana rocks), so Aerid's {6} activation both adds another Heartwood and gives her +X/+0 for every artifact, turning her into a huge flying threat. Heavy ramp feeds repeated activations. Payoffs turn the growing artifact count into damage, and a smaller landfall package that also makes Treasures and Food is being phased toward the artifact plan. How it wins: Aerid is pumped through her own activation, extra mana and haste or evasion granters into lethal commander damage in the air, with team-wide artifact pumps and direct damage from artifacts entering finishing off the table. Key roles: - Artifact token production: Aerid makes a Heartwood on entering, dying and activating, and these cards keep adding more artifacts to raise her pump and fuel the payoffs (Tenured Tethermage, Roxanne, Starfall Savant, Stone-Giant of High Pass) - Artifact-count payoffs: These cards convert the artifact count into burn, team-wide power with trample, or extra mana from artifact tokens (Reckless Fireweaver, Craterclaw Colossus, Roxanne, Starfall Savant) - Mana engine for activations: Ramp, Heartwood untapping and doubled token mana pay for Aerid's {6} activation more than once a turn and power out cost-reduced big creatures (Unwinding Clock, Jiang Yanggu, Never Alone, The Great Henge) - Commander damage amplifiers: These multiply or extend Aerid's hits through haste, doubled power, tripled damage, damage copied to every opponent and unblockability (Xenagos, God of Revels, Jeska, Thrice Reborn, Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar) - Protecting Aerid: Hexproof and indestructible tricks, redirection and recursion keep the commander attacking, and her death still leaves a Heartwood behind (Tamiyo's Safekeeping, Tyvar's Stand, Deflecting Swat) - Landfall subtheme: Fetching and extra lands trigger ping damage, Treasures and Food, which ties back into the artifact count (Tireless Provisioner, Koth, the Geomancer, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove)
