Astarion, the Decadent sits at the center of a life manipulation engine that both drains opponents and doubles down on life gained, using his end-step triggers to compound damage or pad your total based on what happened that turn. The deck floods the board with life-gain-on-ETB creatures, lifelink threats, and damage-on-life-gain payoffs to maximize every point of life exchanged, while boardwipes with lifegain riders and punishing enchantments keep opponents in check. The primary win condition is assembling Exquisite Blood alongside any of several damage-on-lifegain payoffs, which creates an infinite loop of life loss and lifegain that eliminates all opponents simultaneously.
