Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad Commander Deck
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad turns the graveyard into a growing army. Each attack exiles an Assassin card from the graveyard with a memory counter, then makes a tapped, attacking token copy of every memory-countered creature card in exile, so the strike force gets bigger every combat. The deck fills the graveyard with Assassins through looting, discard outlets and self-mill, doubles attack triggers, and uses token-copy ETBs and combat-damage payoffs to snowball each swing into removal, cards and lethal damage. How it wins: Repeated, escalating Altaïr attacks, often with extra combats, pumps and evasion, swarm opponents with copied Assassins whose enter and combat-damage triggers drain, kill blockers and halve life totals. Key roles: - Graveyard stocking: Discard and loot effects put Assassin creature cards in the graveyard so Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad always has a new target to exile and a deeper pool of memory cards to copy. Madness and conniving give some of the discards extra value. (Buried Alive, Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion) - Memory engine amplifiers: These cards make each attack exile more cards or create more copies. Doubled attack triggers exile two cards and create two sets of tokens. An end-step exile adds legendary creature cards to the memory pool, and a type-changer lets any creature card qualify as an Assassin. One card keeps the copies from being exiled at end of combat and from dying to the legend rule. (Isshin, Two Heavens as One, The Animus, The Master, Multiplied) - Token ETB value: Copies that enter attacking repeat their enter triggers every combat, killing creatures, pinging opponents, drawing cards or claiming the monarchy each swing. (Nekrataal, Murderous Redcap, Arbaaz Mir) - Combat-damage payoffs: Assassins that connect make more tokens, Treasure, cards, graveyard recursion or brutal life loss, multiplied by every attacking copy. (Unstoppable Slasher, Aya of Alexandria, Mari, the Killing Quill) - Anthems and evasion: Lords and attack pumps, double strike and unblockability turn a wide board of temporary copies into lethal damage. (Bayek of Siwa, Arno Dorian, Whispersilk Cloak) - Extra combats and freerunning: Connecting with an Assassin unlocks cheap freerunning spells, including an untap-and-attack-again effect that re-triggers Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad for a second, larger wave and reanimation that brings back key pieces. (Overpowering Attack, Restart Sequence, Chain Assassination)
