Reyhan, Last of the Abzan & Prava of the Steel Legion
Reyhan, Last of the Abzan & Prava of the Steel Legion Commander Deck
The deck is a +1/+1 counter and token strategy led by Reyhan and Prava. Reyhan enters with three counters and, whenever a creature you control with counters dies, moves those counters onto another creature, so counters keep accumulating on one threat. Prava makes 1/1 Soldier tokens and gives tokens +1/+4 on your turn, while the many counter, token and incubate effects make the board grow and stay large. How it wins: It builds an oversized board of counter-laden creatures and Phyrexian Incubator tokens, then overwhelms opponents in combat, with drain effects from dying creatures as a secondary source of damage. Key cards: - Counter doublers: Replacement effects that multiply every counter placed, turning small additions into huge creatures, such as Doubling Season and Branching Evolution. - Token and incubate makers: Effects that produce a wide board of Incubator and Phyrexian bodies that carry counters and benefit from Prava's token bonus, such as Progenitor Exarch and Glissa, Herald of Predation. - Proliferate engines: Cards that add another counter to everything already holding one, such as Throne of Geth and Sword of Truth and Justice. - Death-trigger drains: Creatures that punish creatures dying and pair with Reyhan's counter transfer, such as Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. - Mass-pump finishers: Anthem effects that make a wide board lethal, such as Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. - Trigger doubler and token buff: Drain opponents with bastion of remembrance double death triggers with Teysa Karlov and buff up creatures with king Darien XLVIII
