Queen Marchesa - Dont touch me!
Queen Marchesa Commander Deck
Queen Marchesa leads an aikido deck. It hands opponents incentives and obligations to attack: monarchy that can be stolen, goad, forced combat, and a Sleeper Agent gifted away. Then it punishes every attack and redirects damage back onto the table with pillowfort taxes, prevention-and-reflect tricks, and punisher enchantments. Marchesa seeds the monarch and keeps generating deathtouch Assassin tokens whenever an opponent steals the crown, while attack-punishers and goaded creatures draw cards and drain life so the table grinds itself down. How it wins: Opponents are forced to bleed each other out through goad and punished attacks while drain effects chip in, and the game is closed with damage-reflection bursts such as Fire Covenant on Brash Taunter or Blasphemous Act with Repercussion. Key roles: - Monarch bait and payoff: Becoming the monarch draws cards. Losing the crown to an attacker makes Queen Marchesa produce deathtouch hasty Assassins to take it back, and some monarch cards also drain or tax opponents who attack (Marchesa's Decree, Court of Ambition, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs). - Forced combat and goad: These cards push opponents' creatures into attacking each other, then reward that with cards, life loss and drains (Disrupt Decorum, Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant, Vengeful Ancestor). - Pillowfort and attack punishers: These tax, deter or profit from attacks aimed at this player, drawing cards, stealing cards or making creatures off opponents' aggression (Ghostly Prison, Cunning Rhetoric, Mangara, the Diplomat). - Damage redirection: Prevention and reflection effects turn incoming or board-wide damage into lethal hits on opponents, including the Brash Taunter and Repercussion combos (Brash Taunter, Repercussion, Comeuppance). - Wraths and creature theft: Sweepers reset boards that grow too big and also fuel the Blasphemous Act combo, while mass-steal effects turn opponents' armies into a lethal swing (Blasphemous Act, Toxic Deluge, Insurrection). - Tax and punisher value: These cards punish opponents for drawing or casting spells, generating treasure, cards and life drain throughout the game (Smothering Tithe, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Esper Sentinel).
