Reaper King
Reaper King Commander Deck
Reaper King leads a Scarecrow and changeling tribal deck where every other Scarecrow entering destroys target permanent. The list is built to stack those triggers: changelings count as Scarecrows, trigger doublers multiply each destruction, and flicker effects re-enter Scarecrows over and over to grind opponents' boards to nothing. Cost reducers and five-color mana rocks and creatures make the commander and the tribe cheap to deploy, while tribal card draw keeps the creatures flowing. How it wins: It strips away opponents' permanents with repeated Reaper King triggers until a wide, anthem-boosted Scarecrow board can attack freely, with Tezzeret's artifact burn, Osseous Sticktwister and the Painter's Servant plus Grindstone mill combo as additional ways to close. Key roles: - Scarecrow bodies and changelings: Actual Scarecrows and shapeshifters that count as the type, each one a removal trigger for Reaper King and pumped by his anthem. Maskwood Nexus turns every creature into a Scarecrow. (Irregular Cohort, Maskwood Nexus, Universal Automaton) - Trigger multiplication: Doubling enter-the-battlefield and tribal triggers turns each Scarecrow landing into two or more destroyed permanents. Token copies of Scarecrow spells add even more triggers. (Panharmonicon, Roaming Throne, Reflections of Littjara) - Flicker engine: Repeatable and instant-speed blinks re-enter Scarecrows to fire Reaper King again, and also reuse value enter abilities like Graveshifter's and The Reaper's. (Conjurer's Closet, Teleportation Circle, Ephemerate) - Tribal cost reduction and mana creatures: Type-based discounts make the hybrid-costed commander and the tribe cheap. Many Scarecrows double as any-color mana sources, so ramp pieces are also removal triggers. (Morophon, the Boundless, Urza's Incubator, Scuttlemutt) - Tribal card advantage and recursion: Draw from Scarecrows entering or being sacrificed, plus returning artifact creatures from the graveyard, keeps the trigger stream refilling. (Kindred Discovery, Scarecrone, Herald's Horn) - Artifact-count payoffs and alternate wins: The artifact-heavy board fuels Tezzeret's damage and draw. Painter's Servant makes all cards share a color, so Grindstone mills an opponent's entire library. (Painter's Servant, Grindstone, Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge)
