Blame Game
Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser Commander Precon
Nelly Borca runs a political goad deck. Every attack suspects and goads opponents' creatures, then rewards them for hitting each other, since every combat-damage connection between opponents draws a card for both Nelly's controller and the attacker. A large suite of goad auras, equipment and spells forces the table's creatures to fight each other. Deterrents, damage prevention and punishers keep those attacks pointed away from Nelly's controller, while damage doublers, symmetrical burn and a few big fliers finish off weakened opponents. How it wins: Opponents are goaded into grinding each other's life totals down while Nelly's controller out-draws them, then damage doublers, forced-attack chaos and evasive threats close out the survivors. Key roles: - Forced aggression: These turn opposing creatures into permanent attackers aimed at other players, which feeds Nelly Borca's mutual draw trigger every turn cycle (Disrupt Decorum, Shiny Impetus, Vengeful Ancestor). - Symmetric and punisher card advantage: These cash in on the extra draws and attacks Nelly Borca hands out, so the goad plan refills the controller's hand faster than the opponents' (Trouble in Pairs, Smuggler's Share, Tome of Legends). - Attack deterrence and redirection: Attack taxes, attack restrictions and damage prevention stop goaded or angry creatures from reaching Nelly's controller, and some of it turns incoming damage into value or punishment (Ghostly Prison, Comeuppance, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs). - Damage amplification: Doublers and damage-reflecting creatures multiply the combat damage opponents deal to each other, along with the deck's own burn (Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Fiendish Duo, Brash Taunter). - Table-wide burn finishers: Group-damage sorceries and a big flier that grows as opponents fall below half life end games once life totals are low (Prisoner's Dilemma, Mob Verdict, Anya, Merciless Angel). - Combat chaos tricks: Extra combats, double strike and stolen goaded creatures turn forced attacks into eliminations, including a late-game takeover once two players are out (Take the Bait, Spectacular Showdown, Hot Pursuit).
