Ghave, Guru of Spores serves as the engine of the deck, converting +1/+1 counters into Saproling tokens and sacrificing those tokens to generate more counters, creating a self-sustaining loop of token production and counter manipulation. The deck amplifies this engine through cards that distribute counters onto entering creatures, like Sigil Captain turning every 1/1 token into a significantly larger threat, and through mass token generation spells that flood the board for overwhelming attacks or sacrifice fodder. The deck wins by leveraging this critical mass of creatures for sacrifice-based removal via Attrition and Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, board control through Aura Shards, and eventually a lethal alpha strike or a massive Storm Herd fueled by the life gained throughout the game.
