Draconic Dissent
Firkraag, Cunning Instigator Commander Precon
Izzet forced-combat deck. Firkraag's Dragons goad opponents' creatures, and the rest of the list makes every opposing creature attack, through goad, "attacks each combat if able" effects and taxes on attacking the pilot. Each forced creature that connects with an opponent triggers Firkraag's second ability, growing it and drawing a card. Opponents grind each other down while the pilot sits behind deterrents and builds card advantage. How it wins: Opponents bleed each other out through compelled attacks, often doubled or punished by pain and lethal combat, while Firkraag's evasive Dragon fleet and burn effects like Drakuseth and Niv-Mizzet finish off the weakened table. Key roles: - Goad and forced attacks: Turn opposing boards into weapons aimed at other opponents. Every attack that connects feeds Firkraag's counter-and-draw trigger. (Disrupt Decorum, Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer, Bothersome Quasit) - Dragon attackers: Evasive, often hasty Dragons trigger Firkraag's goad on attack and add their own pressure, burn or value. (Vengeful Ancestor, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Territorial Hellkite) - Amplifying forced combat: Give goaded or compelled creatures double strike, doubled power or pump. Opponents then take far more damage from each other, and attackers die into blocks. (Avatar of Slaughter, Death Kiss, Spectacular Showdown) - Opponent-owned compulsion tokens: Hand opponents tokens that force their whole board to attack each combat. This creates permanent, symmetric aggression away from the pilot. (Goblin Spymaster, Pursued Whale) - Self-defense and punishing attacks: Tax, bounce or redirect damage so forced attackers avoid the pilot or pay for it. Attacking the pilot becomes costly, and punishers turn combat damage back onto opponents. (Propaganda, Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs, Brash Taunter) - Rewards for attacking each other: Curses and auras generate cards, mana and Treasure whenever a player is attacked or a goaded creature swings. Sweepers then clean up the tapped, battle-worn boards afterward. (Curse of Verbosity, Shiny Impetus, Chain Reaction)
