Heavenly Inferno
Kaalia of the Vast Commander Precon
Kaalia of the Vast attacks and cheats Angels, Demons and Dragons from hand straight into combat, tapped and attacking, skipping their mana costs. The list is packed with big fliers whose static or attack-based effects matter even when they never get cast. Around them sit a heavy sweeper and damage-to-everyone suite, plus haste and protection to keep Kaalia attacking safely. Cheated-in creatures don't count as cast, so cast-from-hand triggers like Reiver Demon's and Dread Cacodemon's need hard-casting. Malfegor and Angel of Despair still get their enters triggers when Kaalia drops them. How it wins: Repeated Kaalia attacks drop huge evasive Angels, Demons and Dragons onto the board each turn, and they beat opponents down in the air while board wipes and symmetrical damage keep opposing boards empty. Key roles: - Kaalia cheat targets: Angels, Demons and Dragons that Kaalia puts into play attacking for free, many with enters effects or lockdown statics that fire on arrival (Malfegor, Angel of Despair, Archangel of Strife) - Getting Kaalia into combat safely: haste and protection effects let Kaalia attack the turn she lands and survive blockers and removal long enough for her trigger (Lightning Greaves, Mother of Runes, Anger) - One-sided sweepers: mass removal that clears opposing creatures while largely sparing a flying or black team, or that resets the board before Kaalia rebuilds from hand (Reiver Demon, Dread Cacodemon, Earthquake) - Symmetrical burn and attrition: repeatable damage to every creature and player that grinds down small creatures and life totals, alongside sacrifice and discard effects (Pyrohemia, Evincar's Justice, Syphon Flesh) - Combat control: effects that force or dictate attacks and blocks, stop combat tricks, and turn an opponent's creatures into attackers aimed elsewhere (Master Warcraft, Basandra, Battle Seraph, Vow of Malice) - Finishing pressure: effects that multiply damage or pump the attacking fliers so one or two swings close the game (Avatar of Slaughter, Bladewing the Risen, Mana-Charged Dragon)
