Merciless Rage

Anje Falkenrath Commander Precon

Commander 2019100 cards

Anje Falkenrath turns discarding into card flow. Every madness card she pitches untaps her, so one turn can chain several loots that cast cheap removal, burn and creatures at their madness costs. The rest of the deck turns discarding into value, through a big-creature graveyard reanimation package, discard payoffs that make tokens, mana, cards or life drain, and recursion that brings back the large creatures dumped into the yard. How it wins: It grinds opponents out with discount madness threats and removal, reanimated and stolen fatties, and incidental drain and burn from discard and enter-the-battlefield triggers, then finishes with evasive beaters and repeated damage. Key roles: - Madness chain: Cheap madness spells and creatures let Anje Falkenrath untap and keep looting, casting interaction and bodies far below their printed cost (Fiery Temper, Anje's Ravager, Dark Withering). - Extra discard outlets: Additional ways to discard, or to wheel everyone's hand, fuel madness and fill the graveyard when Anje is tapped or absent (Key to the City, Zombie Infestation, Magus of the Wheel). - Discard payoffs: Permanents that reward each discard with tokens, mana, cards or life drain, so every loot also builds board or chips at opponents (Bone Miser, Faith of the Devoted, Curse of Fool's Wisdom). - Reanimation and recursion: Discarded big creatures, and creatures from opponents' graveyards, return to the battlefield or to hand, often gaining haste (Chainer, Nightmare Adept, Champion of Stray Souls, Boneyard Parley). - Enter-the-battlefield damage: Creatures re-entering from the graveyard or entering at all deal damage equal to their power, turning reanimated fatties into removal or reach (Flayer of the Hatebound, Warstorm Surge, Bloodhall Priest). - Sac-and-draw aggression: Hasty and evasive attackers close games, while sacrificing spare bodies refuels the hand (Greven, Predator Captain, Archfiend of Spite, Skyfire Phoenix).
