Mishra's Burnished Banner
Mishra, Eminent One Commander Precon
Mishra, Eminent One drives an artifact-value deck. Each combat it copies a noncreature artifact as a hasty 4/4 that attacks and then gets sacrificed at end step. The token keeps the copied artifact's text, so copying ETB and death-trigger artifacts, mana rocks, or engine pieces gives extra triggers, a body, and fuel for sacrifice outlets. Around this sits a large cantrip-artifact and rock base that feeds sacrifice engines, artifact recursion and cheat-into-play effects, which all scale off a board full of artifacts. How it wins: It pressures opponents with hasty Warforms, artifact-scaling threats and big constructs or dragons, often granted flying or double strike, while sacrifice outlets add incidental damage and grind out value. Key roles: - Warform copy targets: Mishra, Eminent One duplicates artifacts whose enter or leave triggers draw cards, fetch lands, make tokens or destroy permanents, so the forced end-step sacrifice becomes a second payoff. (Spine of Ish Sah, Ichor Wellspring, Servo Schematic) - Sacrifice and aristocrat outlets: These cards cash in cheap artifacts and doomed Warforms for damage, tokens, cards and removal, with copied sacrifice-activated abilities doubling the output. (Ashnod the Uncaring, Oni-Cult Anvil, Farid, Enterprising Salvager) - Artifact cheating and tutoring: Sacrificed or bounced artifacts turn into bigger ones put directly onto the battlefield, digging up high-mana-value pieces. (Smelting Vat, Audacious Reshapers, Muzzio, Visionary Architect) - Recursion and replay: The graveyard of sacrificed artifacts becomes a resource to recast or return, keeping the engine fed. (Emry, Lurker of the Loch, Trading Post, Buried Ruin) - Trigger and copy multipliers: These double Mishra's combat trigger, artifact entries and other triggered or activated abilities for compounded value. (Strionic Resonator, Lithoform Engine, Mirrorworks) - Artifact-count payoffs and finishers: These threats grow with or animate the artifact board and grant evasion or double strike to close games. (Blast-Furnace Hellkite, Workshop Elders, Hellkite Igniter)
