The Wise Mothman — Commander art

Mutant Menace

The Wise Mothman Commander Precon

Fallout100 cards

The deck spreads rad counters to every player, which turns each upkeep into a mill engine. The Wise Mothman converts every milled nonland card into +1/+1 counters on that many creatures, and the deck builds a wide board of Mutants to soak them up. Counter doublers and proliferate effects stack those counters (and the opponents' rad counters) into an overwhelming board, while milled cards are recycled for value and the tokens and cards stream in. How it wins: Big counter-laden fliers, tramplers and evasive Mutants swing through, backed by lord effects and proliferate, while radiation drains life and the mill triggers keep growing the attackers. Key roles: - Rad counter distribution: Gives every player rad counters through entering creatures, attack triggers, combat damage and sagas, so each upkeep mills nonland cards and fires The Wise Mothman's counter trigger plus the other mill payoffs. (Nightkin Ambusher, Vault 12: The Necropolis, Nuclear Fallout) - Mill payoffs: Cards that reward any nonland mill with card draw, Zombie Mutant tokens, life or more counters, turning radiation into board presence alongside the commander. (Screeching Scorchbeast, Mirelurk Queen, Glowing One) - Counter amplification and proliferate: Doubling and plus-one replacement effects multiply every counter placed. Proliferate grows creatures and adds opponents' rad counters at the same time, which also makes Lumbering Megasloth cheap. (Branching Evolution, Inexorable Tide, Agent Frank Horrigan) - Milled-card recursion: Takes advantage of the cards radiation and self-mill put in graveyards by casting them, returning creatures or lands milled this turn, or scavenging dead creatures for counters. (Raul, Trouble Shooter, The Master, Transcendent, Young Deathclaws) - Mutant tribal payoffs: Zombie and Mutant synergies anthem the board off counters, draw cards when buffed creatures die, and let sacrifices move counters onto evasive threats. (Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor, Jason Bright, Glowing Prophet, Feral Ghoul) - Countered-creature value and protection: Creatures carrying counters draw cards on combat damage or on demand, and are shielded with ward, hexproof and indestructible to push through the closing attacks. (Marcus, Mutant Mayor, Inspiring Call, Mutational Advantage)
