Commodore Guff leads a superfriends deck that fills the board with planeswalkers, keeps them alive behind a wall of attack taxes, blockers and sweepers, and grows their loyalty with Guff's end-step counter, proliferate and counter-doubling. Guff's +1 Wizards help pay for more walkers. Its −3 draws cards and deals damage to each opponent equal to the planeswalker count, and loyalty-ability copying and extra activations make every walker on the board do more each turn. How it wins: The deck wins by burning opponents out with repeated Guff −3 activations and Chandra end-step pings that scale with the number of planeswalkers in play, backed by ultimates such as emblems, a 9/9 unblockable construct or a twenty-card mill once loyalty gets high enough. Key roles: - Walker density and deployment: Mana rocks, planeswalker-only mana and multi-walker tutoring put several planeswalkers into play quickly, which raises the X on Commodore Guff's −3 and on the Chandra burn. (Deploy the Gatewatch, Interplanar Beacon, Spark Double) - Loyalty growth: Extra counters on entry, proliferate from evasive fliers and noncreature spells, and counter-doubling push walkers toward their ultimates and let them fire minus abilities more often. Commodore Guff's end-step counter adds to this. (Deepglow Skate, Flux Channeler, Oath of Gideon) - Activation multipliers: Effects that allow extra or copied loyalty activations turn a single −3 or ultimate into two or three in the same turn. Combat-damage copy triggers on a few fliers add to this. (Oath of Teferi, The Chain Veil, Repeated Reverberation) - Planeswalker defense: Attack taxes, combat restrictions, high-toughness flying walls and token makers discourage opponents from attacking the walkers, and Mangara draws cards when opponents attack anyway. (Norn's Annex, Silent Arbiter, Wall of Denial) - Board resets that spare walkers: Sweepers that kill creatures, artifacts or nonlegendary permanents leave the legendary planeswalkers standing, and blink effects can protect walkers while adding loyalty.
