Zaffai, Thunder Conductor rewards casting and copying big instants and sorceries, so this Izzet spellslinger list is stacked with mana value 5+ sorceries. Each one scrys and makes a 4/4 Elemental, and the rare 10+ spell (Apex of Power, a copied Octavia-sized threshold) has Zaffai deal 10 damage to a random opponent. Copy effects and Veyran's trigger doubling multiply every Zaffai trigger. Ritual-style mana, free-cast cascades and graveyard recasting power out the expensive spells. Spell-payoff creatures turn the stream of casts into a board. How it wins: It floods the board with Elementals, Drakes, Constructs and spell-pumped attackers, then swings for lethal, with Zaffai's 10-damage burst from huge spells as extra reach. Key roles: - Big spell suite: Expensive sorceries and instants clear Zaffai, Thunder Conductor's mana value 5 threshold to make 4/4s, and the 10+ mark for direct damage, while also ramping, drawing or making tokens on their own. (Apex of Power, Elemental Masterpiece, Call the Skybreaker) - Copy and trigger doubling: Copying spells and doubling magecraft triggers turns one big cast into several tokens or several 10-damage hits from Zaffai, Thunder Conductor. (Veyran, Voice of Duality, Swarm Intelligence, Dualcaster Mage) - Burst mana: Rituals, treasure makers and spell-only mana let the deck chain expensive spells in a single turn. (Rousing Refrain, Jaya Ballard, Storm-Kiln Artist) - Free-cast cascades: Effects that exile cards and cast them for free, or cast spells from graveyards, generate extra casts and magecraft triggers without paying the full cost. (Sunbird's Invocation, Epic Experiment, Etali, Primal Storm) - Graveyard spell fuel: A graveyard full of spells discounts or powers delve draws and huge bodies, and recurs spells for repeat value. (Octavia, Living Thesis, Inferno Project, Charmbreaker Devils) - Spellcast army: Creatures that create tokens or grow with each cast convert the spell chain into a lethal attack. (Talrand, Sky Summoner, Metallurgic Summonings, Rionya, Fire Dancer)
