The Ruinous Powers
Abaddon the Despoiler Commander Precon
Grixis Chaos cascade deck. It deals damage to opponents early in its own turn so that Abaddon gives cascade to spells cast from hand, then chains those free spells into more damage. Built-in cascade cards and cascade-granting creatures add to the engine. Many payoffs reward casting spells from anywhere other than the hand, which every cascaded spell is. The rest is a Demon-heavy creature suite, ping effects that raise the cascade threshold, and a big board-wipe package to reset the table on its terms. How it wins: It snowballs cascade chains into burn triggers, token armies and large evasive Demons and trampling attackers, then finishes opponents with direct damage like Blood for the Blood God! or combat. Key roles: - Turning on the Mark: Cheap pings, end-step life loss and early hits push opponents' life lost up during the turn, so later spells from hand under Abaddon cascade further (Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch, Kill! Maim! Burn!, Great Unclean One). - Cascade engine: Spells with built-in cascade and creatures that grant it to the next spell keep the free-spell chain going even without Abaddon's threshold (Dark Apostle, Sloppity Bilepiper, Bituminous Blast). - Cast-from-elsewhere payoffs: Cascaded, flashbacked and stolen-card spells count as cast from outside the hand, which triggers damage, Spawn tokens and recursion (Keeper of Secrets, The Lost and the Damned, Poxwalkers). - Demon damage package: Demons that ping as they enter, gain discounts and haste, or draw cards turn creature drops into extra burn (Be'lakor, the Dark Master, Herald of Slaanesh, Warstorm Surge). - Spellslinger copies and recursion: Instant and sorcery triggers, copies and graveyard flashback let one turn's removal and burn be cast again for more damage and value (Pink Horror, Past in Flames, Reverberate). - Wipes and death payoffs: Mass removal clears blockers while creature deaths fuel card draw, cost reduction and big finishers (Blasphemous Act, Tallyman of Nurgle, Blood for the Blood God!).
