Kalemne, Disciple of Iroas Commander Precon

Commander 2015100 cards

Kalemne and a dense curve of five-plus mana Giants and Angels ramp out big threats. Each big creature cast grows Kalemne through experience counters, turning the double-striking, vigilant commander into a huge attacker. Cost reducers and a heavy rock package power out the fatties early. Board wipes and symmetrical damage clear blockers, which the deck's large, high-toughness bodies survive. How it wins: It beats down with an oversized double-striking Kalemne and a board of huge Giants and Angels, using myriad, evasion granting and damage doubling to deal lethal combat damage across the table. Key roles: - Experience growth and big-creature density: A deep pool of five-plus mana creatures means nearly every major cast grows Kalemne permanently, so the commander becomes a lethal double-striker and the bodies themselves are threats. (Inferno Titan, Sun Titan, Hamletback Goliath) - Giant tribal and cost reduction: Giant-specific discounts and Giant lords make the big spells cheaper and turn the tribe into a mutually pumping trampling army. (Stinkdrinker Daredevil, Urza's Incubator, Sunrise Sovereign) - Ramp toward the top end: Mana rocks and cycling or fetch lands smooth the path to six and seven drops while filling in draws. (Sol Ring, Basalt Monolith, Dreamstone Hedron) - Sweepers the big bodies survive: Global damage effects and one-sided or kicked wipes clear opposing boards while the deck's high-toughness, flying or Giant creatures stay standing. (Magma Giant, Thundercloud Shaman, Disaster Radius) - Multiplayer combat amplifiers: Myriad copies, granted flying and lifelink, and damage doubling turn single attacks into table-wide pressure. (Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Blade of Selves, Victory's Herald) - Forced attacks and enter-the-battlefield damage: Effects forcing opponents to attack get their creatures killed against the deck's big blockers. Enter-triggered damage, scaled by creature power, turns each fatty into direct burn. (Warstorm Surge, Curse of the Nightly Hunt, Fumiko the Lowblood)
