Bracket 3 Commander decks: common questions
What is a Bracket 3 Commander deck?
Bracket 3 is the Upgraded tier: a deck someone has actually worked on. The manabase is tuned, the removal is efficient, and there is a real plan behind the ninety-nine. It is the most common bracket for a deck built over time rather than bought in a box.
How many game changers can a Bracket 3 deck have?
Up to three. A fourth moves the deck to Bracket 4. This is the hard numeric line between the two tiers, and it is the one most decks trip over first.
Can a Bracket 3 deck have combos?
Yes, as long as they are not early. A two-card combo the deck assembles late is fine at Bracket 3. A combo the deck can tutor up and win with in the first few turns reads as Bracket 4.
How do I get my deck from Bracket 3 to Bracket 2?
Cut the game changers first, then the two-card combos, then any chained extra turns. One game changer is enough to hold a deck at Bracket 3 on its own, so start there and re-score.
